Well, the year is pretty much over and it’s time to say “Hello” to 2009 and “Goodbye” to ‘08. It’s also a time to reflect on the past events of the year. It was a cool year in my opinion, I mean, we’ve elected our first ever “Black” president, Sen. Barack Obama and we all went green in an 11th hour attempt to save our planet. Also this year in La La Land (aka Hollywood), Britney didn’t overdose on her own celebrity. WOOT!

It’s  been a great year for music and fashion…aside from the gossip and train wrecks (Hi Amy!).The two always gone hand in hand, so it’s no surprise that there’s been some really awesome creativity going on and you know wouldn’t be a proper entertainment year-end rundown without mentioning Rihanna, who had her shine in both!

So the other day I read a post on a celebrity oriented forum in which one member felt that superstars have “some sort of deep seated insecurity” based on the fact that in order for them to get to where they are, and why they do/did it is some how strange. As the poster put it, “That kind of drive is abnormal.” Now I’m sure you’ve heard this same sentiment before, and you’ve probably joked with your friends about it. But if you really think about it…really think about the entertainers and artists who are on top of their game, is it true? Are they somehow abnormal for wanting to become super popular, super rich, super…super?

Yep, I sure do! Chescaleigh is a Youtuber, who’s absolutely addicting. She sings, acts, knits, does comedy, and gives awesome hair tips for natural chicks. I found her because I was looking for something to do with my hair, and I came across one of her tutorials, and from there I immediately subscribed to her videos. Just give her a gander, and you’ll see why!!

What is it with stylists NOT knowing how to style!? Seriously, it seems like all of the award shows are just train wreck central. I recently went slack-jawed over Katy Perry’s …I don’t know what to call it, and NOW I’ve come across some pics of Beyonce’s outfit (shudders) and Lil’ Mama’s get up (po’ thang), not to mention Raven Symone’s green potato sack. I’m pretty sure they themselves would NEVER have co-signed these outfits if it weren’t for the hordes of yes men and women out to secretly ruin them.

Now, I didn’t watch the MTV Europe Awards, so I don’t know the context of these outfits; however, they’re very eyebrow-raising, right? There’s a fine line between quirky that works, and what in the hell!? Katy Perry, who normally falls in the quirky that works catagory, wore some really out there fashions at the awards that wobbled between ooh and ew.

I’m a magazine whore. There, I said it! I can’t help it, really. I love buying magazines, and most of the time I don’t even read them all. When I was younger, I would buy all of the teeny-bopper magazines, fashion magazines and gossip rags even if they all had the same content. It was horrible. Luckily, I’ve realized how much money I was wasting and cut back recently on the number of magazines I purchase just for the heck of it, but there are a few that I HAVE to have, no matter what, and also a few that will always have a warm spot in my heart. (lol)

I’ve got it! Remember my little dilemma about what to be for Halloween?! WELL, I’ve finally decided that I will be a Fafinette! HAHA it actually hit me that it would be such a fun and girly costume while I was in the middle of my Japanese mid-term, random I know. But don’t you think it’d be fun!? I mean, not that I’m going to actually go anywhere on Halloween, but just for the heck of it, I would like to dress up. I only have one problem now:

WHICH CHARACTER SHOULD I BE!?

See, I love all of the Fafi girls, but with only 8 days until Halloween, I’ve got to pick a favorite, and fast! So I ask you girls, out of the Fafi girl’s shown, which do you think I should dress up as:

Who doesn’t love playing flash games? They’re fun, and a great way to waste time. Since it’s mid-term week, studying has taken over. And since studying alot eventually means there’s going to be a study break, why not spend that time playing a few games online to lighten up the mood. As they say, all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy…whoever Johnny is.

Saturday night was anything but live with Sarah Palin as the guest. It actually very was lame. It was so obvious that she was on there trying to get some cool points, but it ended up being really awkward. It was, in my opinion bad timing and planning on the McCain/Palin team’s part. If they were looking to boost their standings with the young voters, they should have done this earlier in their campaign before the damage was already done by Fey and team.

The bit where Mr. Baldwin “confused” her for Tina Fey was really bad acting, and her three minutes spent at the newsdesk was also really cheesy. Amy Poehler’s rap was funny and kinda annoying too. And I like Amy!
