Well the year is already a day old, and like everyone else on the planet, I’ve got some goals that I want to achieve this year. The thing is though, that I’m not really good with keeping these resolutions. LOL They usually fade into oblivion by March. I think that happens because I always have this ambitious laundry list of things that I want to accomplish and in the end, I’m just overwhelmed with how much I “need” to do, and end up either half assing it, or putting it off until never. Yeah, I said until never. Down with Procratination!

Well, the year is pretty much over and it’s time to say “Hello” to 2009 and “Goodbye” to ‘08. It’s also a time to reflect on the past events of the year. It was a cool year in my opinion, I mean, we’ve elected our first ever “Black” president, Sen. Barack Obama and we all went green in an 11th hour attempt to save our planet. Also this year in La La Land (aka Hollywood), Britney didn’t overdose on her own celebrity. WOOT!

It’s  been a great year for music and fashion…aside from the gossip and train wrecks (Hi Amy!).The two always gone hand in hand, so it’s no surprise that there’s been some really awesome creativity going on and you know wouldn’t be a proper entertainment year-end rundown without mentioning Rihanna, who had her shine in both!

So I hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas this year, and I hope your also enjoying your Chanukka, Kwanzaa and all other holidays that are celebrated this time of year. I for one, am just sitting around waiting for my family to arrive so I can EAT! LOL

Well, while I twiddle my thumbs waiting here’s one of my favorite videos of G Soul singing Stevie Wonder’s “Someday At Christmas“. His voice is beautiful, and since last year when he uploaded it onto youtbe, I must have watched it 1,000 times. For one it’s one of my favorite Stevie songs, and well, wouldn’t it be nice if the lyrics of this song came true? *Sigh*

So I’ve been wondering, is a guy with a kid (or kids) out of the question for you ladies? Would his father-status make you less inclined to date him? I’ve always wondered about this, since personally, I don’t think I could deal with a guy’s kids that weren’t mine. Sounds incredibly shallow and immature, but it is what it is. Plus I’ve heard many times from guys that once they find out a woman has a kid, it kinda kills it, so I’m wondering is it the same for you girls? Now before you say I’m totally pessimistic, I have seen a few cases where the guy had a kid from a previous relationship and all was well, but to be totally honest, more often I’ve seen instances where it’s incredibly stressful on the new girlfriend. The two biggest laments I’ve heard from the latter were “baby momma drama” and just the simple fact that the kid wasn’t theirs, causing some tension.

I’ve been having really weird dreams lately, and but I’m hesitant to chalk them up to lack of sleep and stress. See, they started before finals week, and to be honest with you, I’ve had weird dreams almost all of my life. LOL I’m not talking about those “I dreampt I was a mermaid” type dreams but almost always my dreams involve people I know, or situations I know about (but have yet to be realized) but what’s bugging me isn’t that. What is bugging me is that quite often….they come true! Don’t look at me like I’m talking crazy. It’s happened on many occasions, and while I don’t like to bring it up often (because it scares the crap out of me), lately I’m starting to wonder…am I really psychic? or am I just psycho?

A few days ago I stumbled upon this article/video on Yahoo! Shine about women who were asked what they would tell their teenaged selves about beauty, were they able to go back in time and I instantly thought of several movies that have addressed this oft dreamt about scenario.  My favorite being an awesome chick flick from South Korea called 언니가간다 or Project Makover aka Go Go Sister! . In it a young woman at the age of 30 travels back in time to her adolescence and gets the oportunity to give advice to herself. It’s a really great movie, and I totally recommend it to everyone (guys included).

So the other day I read a post on a celebrity oriented forum in which one member felt that superstars have “some sort of deep seated insecurity” based on the fact that in order for them to get to where they are, and why they do/did it is some how strange. As the poster put it, “That kind of drive is abnormal.” Now I’m sure you’ve heard this same sentiment before, and you’ve probably joked with your friends about it. But if you really think about it…really think about the entertainers and artists who are on top of their game, is it true? Are they somehow abnormal for wanting to become super popular, super rich, super…super?

I came across a post on Jezebel (yes I stalk Jezebel, lets move on) anyway, I came across this post about Anorexia groups popping up left and right on Facebook. It didn’t surprise me since these “pro-ana” groups can be found almost everywhere online: Youtube, Myspace, and some even have their own domains. Just as easily as you can find a support group to help you quit smoking or a community for collecting comic books, you can find groups dedicated to eating disorders; and quite frankly it’s disturbing.
