LOL “food stuffs.” I love that phrase. Anywho, since tomorrow is the big Turkey Day, I thought, why not talk about my favorite Thanksgiving foods. Since I don’t eat meat, I’m all about the yummy side dishes…but then again, now that I think about it; even when I did eat meat it was ALL about the side dishes. Am I the only one who thinks the side dishes don’t get shown enough love? I mean, yeah sure the turkey is the center piece, but without the supporting cast he’s just a dead bird right? LOL anway, check out what I’m looking forward to tomorrow night.

Now, I know that everyone’s family has their own say as to what side dishes get the honor of being included in the Thanksgiving dinner, but I’m sure that at least 99.9% of the families celebrating will have turkey’s best friend: STUFFING! OMG I love this stuff. I could eat stuffing all year long, but I don’t. Just because holding out for it until Thanksgiving makes it tase that-much-better. Oh yes. And it doesn’t matter what kind of stuffing either, I’ll eat it, especially my mom’s. However, Stove Top stuffing makes me giddy. So if you’ve got any of that, pass it this way.

The next best side dish in my opinion, cranberry sauce. This tangy-sweet gel-like stuff is yummy out of the can, but homemade it’s even more delicious! It’s so easy to make too! I tell you, cranberry sauce is one of the most perfect condiments, and while it’s not as inclusive as Ketchup, it sure does taste, smell, and look better. =P

Another dish I love is sweet potatoes. Candied, mashed or baked it’s all good with me! I love the different flavors that yams have. Candied, is <33 but sometimes I’m not in the mood for all of the sweetness, so I’ll grab a baked potato which is more subtle in taste, or a scoop or two of mashed with a bit of gravy. MMMMMMMM. Also, since they’re orang-y, they make your plate look pretty, especially if you’ve got other foods of different colors. LOL random yes, but I like to admire my food before I devour it.

I also like green beans, and while I don’t really like it much, cornbread is ok. But only a small piece. It’s too crumbly for me. Corn on the cob, on the other hand, gimme gimme gimme! I can eat corn on the cob raw (trust me it tasts SO much better that way), but I also horde them cooked with a little bit of butter and salt. Yes, I said I horde the corn. So back away from my stash.

Oh, and I can’t forget the collard greens and baked macaroni!! LOL these two are like a staple for EVERY big gathering in my family…birthdays, Christmas, Sunday dinner; they’re like a part of our family. A part of our family that we eat. Happily. NOM NOM NOM! lol Anywho, yes, collard greens and baked mac and cheese round out my favorite side dishes of Thanksgiving. I’m getting hungry now! haha
